The Try Think Project · Hawaii
We strengthen community well-being through accessible facilitated dialogue programs for people from diverse backgrounds, in communities that too often go unseen and unheard.
About Us
The Try Think Project is a nonprofit that strengthens community well-being by providing accessible facilitated dialogue programs for folks from diverse backgrounds, in typically underrepresented communities.
We started inside the Women's Correctional Facility in Windward Oahu, Hawaii. Rather than teaching a specific trade or following a set curriculum, we built The Try Think Project to be more responsive: a space where incarcerated people feel safe to share not just their opinions and perspectives, but also their stories and hopes for the communities they choose to be a part of.
Guided conversations where every perspective has room to be shared and heard.
A setting where people feel safe to share not just opinions, but stories and hopes.
Programs built for folks from diverse backgrounds who too often feel unseen.
No set curriculum. Each group shapes the conversation around what matters to them.
What We Do
From intimate circles to large group sessions, our work is built around one belief: people grow when they feel genuinely heard.
